Just a Different Way of Doing Business

As of July 1st Holland U.M.C. and the Colden U.M.C. will form the Holland / Colden Charge in the Upper New York Annual Conference. According to the instructions from Bishop Marcus Matthews the announcement of this new alignment is to be made Sunday May 29th during the morning worship service.

Rev. Robert W. Zimmerman will continue as the pastor of Holland as well as taking on the pastoral duties of the Colden Church.

The rationale for linking the two churches is that it will provide a strong full time appointment for the future. Also it will give the Holland congregation a financial “breather” in order to strengthen the outreach min- istry and its place in the comunity. This presents a challenging opportunity to become more efficient in ministry and a more visible witness of Christ in the community.
